Work With Me

Since retiring from private practice, and after seven years at a RBM company, helping physicians avoid P2P phone calls has become my mission. I work with associations, health systems, practice groups, and health technology companies in the following ways:

Speaking

I am available for personal appearances, speaking engagements and coaching for physician groups, office staff, medical staffs, sleep centers,  and local, regional or national specialty society meetings on the topic “How to Avoid Peer-to-Peer Phone Calls.”

Specialists, primary care providers, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants  can all benefit from the tools acquired during conferences.  Printed reference material and slides are provided as part of lectures and talks.

Best for:

  • Associations, specialty organizations, health systems, and physician groups

  • Annual meetings, national meetings, regional meetings, "all hands" meetings

Workshops

Workshops, with coaching and case scenarios will teach participants a how to master the prior authorization process to their advantage, and get approvals "right out of the gate".

Workshops focus on the imaging studies that create the highest number of denials (such as MRI Lumber spine), so participants will understand better how to interpret denial rationales and consistently obtain approval with the very first contact with radiology benefits managers.

Best for:

  • Associations, specialty organizations, health systems, and physician groups

  • Annual meetings, national meetings, regional meetings, "all hands" meetings

Consulting

We anticipate that electronic medical record developers will answer the prior authorization (PA) needs of physicians and other users by creating interfaces with EMR and RBM guidelines.  This would facilitate the PA process and streamline imaging approvals in real-time.  We would be happy to discuss this new frontier with technology developers.

Best for:

  • Electronic medical record companies

  • Prior authorization companies

  • Imaging facilities

  • Oncology centers

  • Sleep centers

  • Small and Large medical group practices and office managers

Podcasts & Webinars

I have performed one- and two-part webinars, complete with slides and take-home guides for future reference.  If facilities are available, these may include questions from the audience.  Podcasts are also available.

Best for:

  • Associations, specialty organizations, health systems, and physician groups

  • Continuing medical education, ongoing learning
